Week 3

This week I have been trying to create a routine!

SUNDAY

I taught a friend how to play Gin Rummy on Sunday night....I got my butt kicked...I can't believe it! It was fun though...at least I have a friend to play cards with now. Also, we checked out some travel sites and found a site with amazing deals to various places in Korea. So, we booked a trip from 10/8-10/10! I'm so excited. We leave Deagu on Friday night and take the KTX train to Seoul. Then Friday morning we meet up with the group and head out to the north-east province (can't think of the name right this second). Well we visit a Wind village in the morning, make cheese in the afternoon, ride some ATVs around town and then have dinner with the group. In the morning we head out to visit a temple (I can't wait), then we have some lunch, and then we head back to Seoul. This trip included the motel, activities and 4 meals for W57,000($50.00). We have to buy tickets to Seoul and back for about W80,000 and a motel friday night, but over all this trip is super inexpensive! I can't wait!

TUESDAY

On Tuesday morning I watched the Chargers get beat by Kansas City via skype. It has been fun watching football with my friend Linds and her husband Kevin 6,000 miles away. It actually is pretty cool. All they do is place their computer in front of their tv and i get to watch the game as it happens! Although, this is a fun way to watch football I had to think of another way. The timing each week doesn't work out to my advantage, so I had to figure out my options.

WEDNESDAY

I heard about a bar downtown, Deagu called The Holy Grill. The word on the street was that they played football, so Wednesday after I got off work I took the bus downtown to go and hunt this place out. I had seen it once last weekend and I tried to just figure out where it was. Luckily I have a good sense of direction, because sure  enough I found it! I talked to Aaron one of the owners who gave me the run down. I can watch Monday Night Football on Tuesday night at 10pm and he said if I wanted to watch the Chargers I could stop in on Weds to watch the game! I was pretty stoked on that! I checked out their menu, and even though I am trying not to eat too late at night I had a HOLY COW burger!

HOLY COW!!!!!! I have never had such a big burger in my life. It had two paddies and bacon plus all the trimmins...I had salad and of course fries. It was sooooooo goo, I'll be back next week that's for sure.

I made it back home safe and sound that night as well!

THURSDAY

I slept late on Thursday....went to work...then had to run off that burger so after I got home from work I took a run by the river. It's a nice run....the water is nice and the flowers and such are beautiful as well. I'll try to take a picture and post next time, it's just hard because I am running. There is also free workout equipment, so I worked out for a bit. I need to make running after work a part of my routine!

FRIDAY

I met a new friend, Minji, for coffee on Friday morning and we made plans to go to Busan next Friday-Saturday. I have been dying to go there, so I can't wait. We will take the train out Friday night and then return Saturday night!  This will be my last few days off before I go back to work. We have a break from Tuesday, Sept 21st-Sunday, Sept 26th for the Chusok Holiday (Korean Thanksgiving). We walked across the street to her school and I checked out the campus. It is very beautiful.

After work, I ran again and did some of the free workout machines. They are amazing! Meet some friends for a sweaty glass of wine and headed home to catch up on some phone calls. Today is my Dad's Birthday, so we spoke for a bit and I also called my Mom. It was nice to speak to the both of them.

NOW

My co-workers are coming over for lunch, so I need to wake up fairly early to go shopping and prepare the meal.  I had planned on going shopping tonight after work, but my bank card was frozen ( i forgot to tell the bank I was moving to Korea..that wasn't on my check off list...ooops). I got it worked out, but now I have to go to the store in the morning. I guess I should probably go to sleep. it is approaching 2:00am....the time flies when you're blogging. I'll post some pictures once I upload this next batch!

I hope you are enjoying my journey as much as I am.  I can't wait to actually start going places!

O, speaking of that I should be going hiking Sunday! We have no work this week as well, so I hope to do some sightseeing, only if I can get transportation. I heard that traveling over the holiday is impossible. I may have some friends over Weds night for tacos and Magaritas! Fiesta Night!!!! Tuesday night another foreigner is having a BBQ...should be fun as well.
