My school and the kids

The first few weeks of school went well! It is a hell of a lot of work though. I officially teach 14 different classes, but only about 8 a day. It is a lot of teaching and preparing! I have to plan for each class and keeping track of each class is quite the task. The levels of classes represent the progression through the English series Face to Face.

MBC-OSS: This section of the school is for elementary school students, ages 6-12.

MBC-OSS Wing

Phonics + Class: Jack and John, they are super cute, they don't know much English at all, so we have to start from the beginning, sounds of letters putting letters together to form words. So far I think they are doing pretty well.

Level 2 Class: Lina, Kevin, Shean, Alex, and Edward, they are pretty good with English. I am teaching Happy Birthday phrases right now. They have a lot of personality in this class! I ask, "How are you today?" and Kevin answers, "I'm FANTASTIC!" He is pretty funny.

Level 2 Class: Rachel, Cherry, Elly, and Alex, they are more quite than the other level 2 class and  they are also learning Happy Birthday phrases. I get to teach basics like the months of the year and the Happy Birthday song.
Zinna and Sophie

Level 3: Sue, Julie, Zinna, Cecilia, Anny, and Alex

Level 3 Class: Anny, Alex, Julie, and Zinna, they are cute kids and they are learning "What is this?" and "What is that?" questions, but right now they questions are about different animals. Old MacDonald song is part of the curriculum.

Level 4: Simon, Mandy, Jenny, Sophie, Harry, and Jamy

Level 4 Class: Harry, Simon, Sophie, Mandy, Jamy, and Jenny are learning about breakfast foods! Yum, my favorite.

Level 5: Kelvin, Justin, Ricky, Will, Jessy, and Albert

Level 5 Class: Jessy, Albert, Ricky, Justin, Will, and Kelvin, learning about where places are located.

Level 5B Class: Grace, Tim 1, Tim 2, and Jeremy, they are an interesting bunch. Grace is very quite, Jeremy can't control his Korean outbursts and the Tim's are right in the middle.

Level 7: Angela, Greag, and Anna

Level 7: Wendy, Cynthia, Shelley, Ann, Vicky, and Liz

Level 7: Vicky, Cynthia, Wendy, Shelley, Ann, Liz, Juliette, Angela, Anna, Brian, and Greg

Level 7 Class: Brian, Greg, Vicki, Cynthia, Wendy, Angela, Shelley, Juliette, Ann, Anna, and Liz, this is my favorite group by far! They have a lot personality and they all participate. They are at a pretty high level in the program, so they are expected to speak English only during class. We are talking about where people are from and where they live specifically within that country.

Lina, Sarah, Cleo, Lauren, Oliver, Ben, George, Andy, Mint, and Sue

Immersion 1 Class: Cleo, Mint, Kaylee, Sarah, Lauren, Andy, Lina, Jeff, George, Ben, Oliver, this class is only allowed to speak English as well. They are studying out of a regular type of literature book. They read stories, answer comprehension questions, learn grammar, practice paragraph writing, and speaking with proper pronunciation and intonation.

Immersion 2 Class: Cleo, Stella, Katherine, Rob, Simon, Michael, and Justin, this class is similar to Immersion 1, but one level higher. They are pretty serious in these classes. They can answer high level comprehension questions.

Eduction Newspaper Class (ENIE): Ben and Oliver, they are characters, they like to dance around class and act a muck. They learn from a Junior Newspaper and also read a story book. They read new books and get a new paper every two weeks. Ben is extremely intelligent, answering really high level thinking questions, I'm way impressed.

West Hills: This section of the school is for middle school students, ages 12-16.

West Hills Wing

WH Level 1: Sarah, Lia, and Hannah, I teach conversation.
WH Level 3: Jeff and David, I teach basic conversation.
WH Level 4: Ruth, Jim, and Fred, I teach conversation.

Level 4: Jim, Ruth and Fred

WH Level 7: Sophia, Amy and Amber, they are 13-14 year old girls, who I'm teaching High School Musical 2. This book is really difficult to comprehend because the vocabulary words are out of control. They are super cute and the other day after finishing the first 3 chapters we watched the DVD.
