December

Our new favorite thing to do...screen golf, too bad we couldn't go this time.  It was all full.

I took a picture of this couple at the coffee shop because they sat there for about an hour taking pictures of themselves.  It was a very Korean thing to do for couples!

Because we couldn't play golf, we went to Divinci coffee and played Triominos (thanks to my Mom...she sent for Xmas!) This is my friend Patrick.

There's Hannah and me.  I can't remember who won, but it may have been me!

They don't really decorate for Christmas here, but it was nice to see this tree at Sugar Joe's.
So for the holiday's I decided to make sock snowmen with all of my students.  In case you were wondering what's inside...it's rice.  Here are the pics of  the kids.

At work we had a pot luck to celebrate the holidays.  There is Rebekah helping Sharon make Thai spring rolls.  They were delicious.

Lauren's second attempt at making cheesecake in a rice cooker.  Wow!  This time it was amazing.

I made chicken pasta salad and Rebekah made some yummy rice dish.  Our director brought the drinks and Haena ordered some fried pork.  We had a great time. We all over ate of course.

More snowmen.  I told you I made one with all of my students (about 70)!

A friendly Rappin' Santa Clause

On Christmas Eve we had out monthly Event Day at school. We had "Market Day." The kids have been earning stickers for about 6 months and the could trade in their stickers for "cash." They took their cash to the market and bought new and used supplies. It was a fun day for all of us.

They also got to buy some snacks!

How cute!

The cakes here are always so cute.  The math academy in our building brought us this cake for the holidays.

So on Christmas Eve at work I began to fill sick.  Throughout the day it just got worse and worse.  Once I got home I went straight to bed, I woke up and then stayed in bed all morning.  The only reason I got out of bed on Saturday was because it was Christmas!  I made it over to my buddy Tony's place, where he and a few others were slaving over the stove.  They picked up the turkey for a local restaurant and then he made everything else.  It was nice to be with my friends on Christmas even though I was sick.  I ate and ran right back to bed within 2 hours.  Food was good and friends were amazing.  It was a great first Christmas away from home.

Yes, more triominos with Patrick.

I want to thank all of my friends and family for all of my Christmas cards and goodies. It is soooo nice to get things from back home!

On Sunday, I made a few Skype calls to wish family Merry Christmas back in the states and because I
was feeling much better, I went over to Hannah's to watch some movies and lounge all day.  It began snowing in the evening.  I had to go out and take a walk.  Hannah works at the local University so we cruised around campus "vandalizing" cars.

This is in front of my house.

Too cold to use the water because the hose is frozen.  Where will I do my laundry?

The river on the way to work.

Let's just say that I have never lived in a place where there is a real winter.  As of right now I love it, but I'm not sure if I will next month if it is still cold and snowy.                  (PS DAD: If you tell me there are tons of spelling mistakes I won't post anymore!) Love you.
